Inspiration Wednesday 2016 week one & two

Hello Kraafters!

Today I have something fun for you.

I have been taking the Donna Downey Inspiration Wednesday classes of 2016. I have only done two weeks but I am having a blast!!

First, let me give a little backstory…

I was a huge fan of Donna’s Inspiration Wednesday videos on YouTube years ago and watched all of them a couple times trying to get into this mixed media stuff I was hearing so much about.

It was my secret pleasure I indulged myself in after I was done video taping the cards and scrapbook pages I would make for my own YouTube channel.

I was so hooked I just HAD to keep on exploring, and that is how Kraaft It LIVE! evolved into what it is today. A mixture of all my guilty pleasures, live & FREE, for you each Tuesday.

Donna seemed to stop doing Inspiration Wednesday videos – at least to this occasional YouTube stalker. And then I saw she was charging for them. Enter sad and droaning music.

I really was dejected especially when I was told they were like $35. (I was under the impression it was $35 for EACH WEEK! THANKFULLY I WAS WRONG!) But I went a couple years without looking deeper based on that one little piece of misinformation.

This brings me to this year’s class.

A friend mentioned she was doing this class and that she was about to start the first week. I got super excited when she made it clear it was $35 for whole year and that gave you total access to the videos and a new video every two weeks. That sold me – that is really cheap per video! I decided this was a no brainer and started a couple weeks ago. (Actually, the class was gifted to me by that friend and since I had intended to begin I decided to pay it forward to another friend to play too. I suggest you do this if you are gifted, it makes the journey even MORE fun!)

I feel the need to tweet it to the world! #iw2016 is a good deal! DO YOU?Click To Tweet

Well, the first two lessons are done in my new handmade junk journal and I just have to share!

No secrets are spilled here…just letting you take a very close look at my finished pages.

My “word of the year” is not a word…it is a phrase – I’M ALL IN! it is based on TobyMac’s latest album, This Is Not a Test. I fully lined up with the phrase and the theme of the whole album and deemed this would be my mantra for the whole of 2016! I won’t do a thing without giving it my all…rain or shine, rich or poor, success or defeat – I’M ALL IN!

Finding myself standing in the midst of all that is being given me – I can not help but sing His praises. “Sing to the Lord a new song; for He has done marvelous things!” – Psalm 98:1

Oh sing to the Lord - #iw2016 journal page week two

As I get more done I will do a photo recap here…so be sure check back for updates.

About Heather Kraafter

First and foremost, I am a child of the One True King! I am blessed to be married to my best friend and was privileged to stay home and raise my boys. I began the Kraaft Shaak in 2010 as a way to experiment with crafting mediums and to teach others what I have learned and have come to enjoy it as my creative passion. Taking the 'show on the road' is my latest passion and each day is one step closer to that dream. Thanks for being a part of that journey too!

Thanks for sharing this Heather. I have been wanting to drive up to Donna’s place (it’s maybe 2hrs from me) and take a workshop. Just some food for thought as well if you would want to go at the same time. They aren’t cheap so it would have to be something planned well in advance but I would love to make a date and we stick to it and meet there. That would be so cool! Think about it. I love what you have done with the workshop so far. I will check back for progress 🙂
    Big Hugs!!

I too started watching Donna’s inpiration Wednesdays when they were free on youtube and finally joined the paid class this year.. I find it so interesting to see how people taking the same class can come up with such totally different pieces, which makes it even more fun. I still have not tackled last weeks lesson. When I started them it was a decision I made to not buy any new products but adapt the lesson to what I had but I’m finding last weeks a challenge.
On the side I just started getting your email post and am so enjoying them.
Blessings to you and your household.
