All Decked Out and Ready for Sparkling Fun 4

Saturday at the Shaak means – Spark Some Creativity with the Kraaft Shaak Design Team!!!!

Join us and get inspired…

Hello Kraafters!

Last month Sylvia brought us the love of a bunny and interesting techniques in SomeBunny Loves You! did you miss it?

This month’s challenge was to create something wearable. Sylvia took that challenge and not only made one wearable item, but TWO!! She even did a video to SPARK SOME CREATIVITY!

Hang on there! Before we get to that, I would like to do a little Q&A with Sylvia and learn a bit more about her if you don’t mind!

 SylviaTabor sepia
Heather: “Have you got a least favorite art supply?”
Sylvia: fixative -because of the smell
Heather: “Are there any colors you stay away from?”
Sylvia: browns – living in the desert, I see way too much brown
Heather: “What is your favorite color?”
Sylvia: teal – for now, it changes alot
Heather: What is the most challenging item in your Design Team Kit? why?
Sylvia: There were challenging items?? I love everything in that kit, because it plays to my muse. I honestly can’t find one
Heather: Tell me about a piece you created that you just loved, please.
Sylvia: OMGosh… where to begin!!! I have struggled with this question all night!! Was it the Holiday Faux Candle Centerpiece I made last year, or the Christmas Exchange Journal, or the Exploding Easter Box, or the silver jewelry, there are sooo many. But, there is one item I made that I truly treasure and it is Journal I made while attending a class Carolyn Dube held in Mesa, Arizona. We got to use all her very own stencils, to create amazing pages of various textures and colors with the many techniques she taught during that class. It is mine to just touch (textures), stare at (colors) and remember the fun and laughter shared with Carolyn and all who attended

Sylvia has this way about her, she truly inspires folks with her willingness to share her talents and knowledge and if she does not know how  she will learn how and show you. She calls herself a jack of trades and master of none, but I think once you see some of the wonders she has brought us you will agree she is the master of quite a bit!

I really enjoyed her candle centerpiece so very much. Her video showing the “how to” should be a featured video on the best use of Tissue Paper rolls – EVER!

Sylvia’s journal making skills are by far my favorite. One day someone asked, “and how do you make a cover like that?” and later that day she produced a video showing exactly what she would do. Just amazing…but take a look at this gorgeous piece of art she made for a gift exchange! WOW!!!!!! Man, I wish I were in THAT exchange club!!

Honestly, there is no stopping this woman! Not even a WEARABLE ART CHALLENGE.

Just look at the model she was able to get for this job!!

Head on over and take a look at what she has for you this month as she accepted the challenge…

About Heather Kraafter

First and foremost, I am a child of the One True King! I am blessed to be married to my best friend and was privileged to stay home and raise my boys. I began the Kraaft Shaak in 2010 as a way to experiment with crafting mediums and to teach others what I have learned and have come to enjoy it as my creative passion. Taking the 'show on the road' is my latest passion and each day is one step closer to that dream. Thanks for being a part of that journey too!

OMGosh. .. you have me blushing here!! Your words are way too kind, Heather! ! Just a simple Kraafter here with fidgety hands always having to “make” something. I am Blessed to have wonderfully kreative people as friends who inspire me to “do”…
